A Bit About Me

I'm Tatum...
I’m a Manual Osteopathic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist based in Calgary.
My work is grounded in a simple but important shift in perspective:
Pain is not always a sign of damage — it is often a reflection of how the nervous system is interpreting and adapting to stress, load, and past experience.
When the body perceives threat, it protects. It does this by changing tone, movement patterns, and tissue sensitivity. Over time, these protective strategies can become what we experience as chronic pain, stiffness, or restriction.
Rather than focusing only on the site of symptoms, I’m interested in the patterns underneath them.
I work with the body as an integrated system — especially through the lens of fascia and the nervous system. Fascia is a responsive, interconnected web of tissue that helps organize tension and movement throughout the entire body. It adapts to everything from posture and injury to emotional and physiological stress.
In treatment, my approach is not to force change, but to listen for where the system is holding on.
Through skilled, intentional touch and assessment, I look for areas that feel overworked, under-responsive, or disconnected from the larger system. The goal is to support the body in shifting out of protective patterns — not by pushing through them, but by creating conditions where they can reorganize naturally.
This often feels subtle and slow. But meaningful.
As the nervous system settles, the body often begins to move differently — with more ease, more coordination, and less effort.
Clients often visit an osteopathic therapist after trying multiple approaches for persistent pain or restriction. My role is to help uncover the “why” beneath what they’re feeling, and support their system in finding a more efficient way of functioning.
At the heart of Soma Flo Wellness is this intention:
To help you feel more at home in your body — not by fixing it, but by helping it move out of patterns it no longer needs.
